Information & Communication Technology (ICT) affects our lives in various ways. As modernization becomes more prominent, technology has become a must. In our daily lives, ICT serves as an avenue for distant communication, easy-access learning, online entrepreneurship, home security, and many more! 

It helps people with disabilities through assistive technology such as electric wheelchairs, speech, reading, and hearing aids, and the like. Also, it makes healthcare efficient with innovations in giving timelier diagnostics and treatments.

Furthermore, ICT provides entertainment by sparking curiosity and interest in everyone. It becomes a platform for showing off unique talents, boosting an individual’s confidence through recognition amongst others. Such media can also inspire viewers in harnessing, honing, or discovering their talent. 

However, ICT also has its cons, given that it's a free platform for everyone - allowing for anonymity that scammers and hackers may take advantage of. Such openness may give freedom to hateful or vulgar comments that are far from constructive criticism. Some contents may induce addictiveness to their users that will cause long-term isolation from the outside world, hindering their socialization with other people. Trapped in the bubble, they might create unrealistic expectations as they envelop themselves deeply in a virtual world.

This is the centric goal of Ecosia (https://www.ecosia.org/). It was founded by Christian Kroll, in December 2009 and is based in Berlin, Germany.
